64 minutes The high speed line through the Netherlands. In 1995 it was decided to build an infrastructure for a high speed train. At this moment (2002) construction of the line is in progress. When finished, trains will travel from Amsterdam to Antwerp, and vice versa, in about 64 minutes, saving more than one hour of traveling time. Shortening the time to travel from and towards the south is expected to have a tremendous impact on Dutch society and the effects are not yet fully anticipated. What is drawn on the map as a smooth sharp line through the landscape has in the field move of house, buy-outs, demolitions, new constructions and employment as a result. Therefore, how exactly does the pierced landscape look like and how does the Dutch landscape show itself from the (virtual) vantage point of the train?
